What is the average time of a slip and fall case?

by James Holliday, posted in Premises Liability Blog, Uncategorized

In Florida, you have four years to bring a slip and fall action, meaning that you have to file a legal document called a complaint within four years from the date of the fall. The clock actually starts running at the time of the fall and you have four years to bring it. If you don’t get that complaint filed within that period time, your claim may be forever barred. Because of this, you should immediately contact a lawyer after a slip and fall accident.

At the scene, before you leave, take photographs of the area with your smartphone and try to get the names of witnesses to preserve that evidence because those people will be very important your case later on. If you or a loved one have been hurt in a slip and fall accident, please give me a call. Come in and we’ll figure out if you have a case together.
