What is an average settlement for a car accident with an injury?

by James Holliday, posted in Brain Injury, Florida Vehicle Accidents

There is no average settlement for a car accident with injury. It really depends upon the facts and circumstances of each case. In Florida, there are several different types of damages that you can seek to compensate you for the harms and losses that you suffered.

A lot of times you can bring claims for past lost wages if you’ve missed time from work, or even the loss of capacity to earn money in the future.

If you’re going to need a surgery down the road for which you’ll be out of work for, say three to six months, you can forecast that and include that as an element of damages or you can pursue pain and suffering, loss of enjoyment for life, inconvenience, mental anguish.

There’s a grocery list of damages that all have to be looked at and there are different types of experts that can help us evaluate what the value is of each of those elements and then forecast it and present it to the insurance company. If you or a loved one have been hurt in an accident, please give me a call and we’ll sit down and talk about it.
