What is a traumatic brain injury?

What is a traumatic brain injury?

What is a traumatic brain injury? Traumatic brain injury occurs when the brain is actually launched into the skull. The brain is a gelatinous material. You can think of it as jello sitting inside a pool of cerebral spinal fluid. When there’s blunt force trauma to the skull, it launches the brain into the skull twisting it and sometimes causing it to rebound backwards, hitting the other side of the skull. Doctors call this a coup-contrecoup type injury.

The immediate onset of symptoms can be a headache, loss of consciousness, memory loss. Oftentimes, the injured person doesn’t even realize they have a brain injury.

If you know of a loved one or a family member or friend that has symptoms that have progressed after suffering a head injury, please come in and sit down with us and we will figure out whether we have a case together.
