How long do slip and fall settlements take?
In Florida, slip-and-fall cases take about 18 months, from the time that the lawsuit is filed, until the time that the case is completed. That’s a time period that is set out in what’s known as the “Florida Rule of Judicial Administration.” There is no hard and fast rule on it, because a lot of the work has to be done upfront before the lawsuit is ever filed.
In our firm here at Holliday Karatinos, we hire investigators, we go out and try to get the surveillance video tapes that show the fall, get photographs of the defect that caused the fall, and try to secure or obtain witness statements from vital people that we may lose contact with later. Here at Holliday Karatinos, we get everything nailed down right at the beginning and we’re ready to go once that lawsuit is filed, and we run as fast as we can to bring justice as quickly as we can for our clients. If you think you have a case, please call me. We’ll be glad to sit down with you and figure out if we have a case together.
