Can I change lawyers in the middle of a case?
Can I change lawyers in the middle of a case? In Florida a client may change lawyers in the middle of a personal injury case for, really, any reason. The Supreme Court of Florida has held that the lawyer-client relationship is a very special relationship, one of integrity, and in order to promote public confidence of the legal profession, the Supreme Court has held that a client may change lawyers at any time. The lawyer who’s terminated or discharged may be entitled to the reasonable value of his or her legal services that they did up to that point. Here at Holliday Karatinos we have a very special relationship with each one of our clients. We have a boutique firm, which means that we’re a small firm with big resources, and we take the time to meet individually with every client one-on-one. If you think you have a case, please come and meet with me and we’ll figure out whether you have a case together.
